About Snakes and Ladders

Snakes and Ladders is the classic dice race to square 100: climb ladders to jump ahead, avoid snakes that slide you back, and reach the top first.

How to play Snakes and Ladders

Tap Roll and your piece moves forward by the number on the die. If you land at the bottom of a ladder you climb to the top of it; if you land on a snake's head you slide down to its tail. You need the exact number to land on 100, and a 6 gives you another roll.

Play Snakes and Ladders online with a friend

Yes. Choose Online (2 players) in the game, tap Create Room and share the 5-letter code with a friend. The host plays Red and the guest plays Green; each roll is checked by the server so the game stays fair. You can chat in the room, and the first player to reach square 100 wins.

Tip: There is no strategy in the dice, but watch the board: the longest ladder starts at square 28, and the biggest snake sits on square 98, right before the finish.

Strategy guide

The game is pure luck, which makes it a great quick game to play with the computer. Keep rolling and enjoy the comebacks, because a single ladder can change the whole race.

A little history

The game began in ancient India as Moksha Patam, a lesson about virtue and vice, and reached Britain in the 19th century as Snakes and Ladders.
