This Privacy Policy explains what information Pixel Arcade ("we," "the site," "the arcade") collects when you play the games on this website or in our Android app, how that information is used, and the choices you have. By using the site or app you agree to the practices described below.
Pixel Arcade is a free-to-play game site and Android app. We collect the minimum information needed to operate it, keep the games working, and support the free ad-supported model:

| Device & browser | Browser type, operating system, and device type (e.g. mobile vs. desktop), collected automatically when you load a page or open the app. A randomly generated ID is stored on your device so we can count unique players; it is not your name or your hardware ID. |
| Approximate location | A coarse, IP-based location (city/region level, not GPS-precise), derived from your IP address via a public IP lookup service. |
| Gameplay activity | Which games and screens you visit, game start/finish events, results (win/loss/draw, score), and difficulty selected when playing against the computer opponent. |
| Online multiplayer | If you create or join an online multiplayer room, the nickname you enter and your moves in that game are shared in real time with the other player in the room via our database (Firebase/Firestore). Rooms and their data are temporary and are not linked to any account. |
| In-game chat | If you use the chat in an online room, the messages you type are shared with the other player(s) in that room via our database. |
| Advertising data | Ad impressions, clicks and whether an ad was watched or closed, for ads shown on the site and in the app (see Section 3, Advertising). In the Android app, Google AdMob may also collect your device's advertising ID and similar device information to serve and measure ads. |
| Cloud save (optional) | If you choose to back up your progress, we store your game progress (XP, coins, achievements, high scores) linked to a sign-in identity. This is either an anonymous Firebase ID or, on the website, your Google account (we receive the email address of that account from Google). |
| Notifications (optional) | If you turn on reminders in the Android app, they are scheduled locally on your device. No notification content or schedule is sent to us. |
You do not need to create an account or provide your name, email address, or any other directly identifying information to play the games.
We do not sell your personal information.
Pixel Arcade displays ads to support the cost of running the site and app. Depending on how ads are currently configured, this may include:
Your consent choices (EEA, UK and Switzerland). If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we use Google's certified consent tools (Google's Privacy & messaging on the website, and Google's User Messaging Platform in the Android app) to ask for your choice before personalized ads are served or ad-related data is collected. In the app, ads are only requested after this choice has been made. If you decline, you may still see non-personalized ads.
You can review or change your choice at any time using the link in the footer of the website and app (it appears wherever these rules apply to you). You can also clear your browser's cookies or, on Android, reset your advertising ID.

Analytics events are retained for as long as reasonably needed to understand site usage and are periodically purged. Multiplayer room data is not linked to an account.
Pixel Arcade is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13, and the Android app is not designed for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will remove it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
