2048 is a sliding number puzzle. Swipe or use arrow keys to slide numbered tiles across the grid — matching tiles merge into their sum. Keep merging to build your way up to the 2048 tile (or beyond).
Use the arrow keys or swipe to slide every tile in one direction at once. Two tiles with the same number merge into one when they collide. A new tile appears after every move — the game ends when the board fills up with no merges left.
Keep your biggest tile in one corner and build a chain of descending values along the edge. Avoid swiping against your anchor direction unless you have no other safe move.
2048 was created by Gabriele Cirulli in 2014 and spread worldwide within weeks, drawing on earlier sliding-tile games.
